Random Almaty Moments

Because our offices are located across the street from the New Republican Palace, we get to see different things (for free).  Sometimes it’s a musical performance, other times it’s a red carpet event for a film showing.  And on this occasion, it looked like practice for a cotillion. Except it was outside in chilly, fall-like weather. For several days. I never did figure out what this was.  (Incidentally, the next week, there were floods of women in aquamarine and teal suits that were congregating in the same square. After some asking around, I found out they were all Mary Kay representatives.  Apparently, Mary Kay sales reps in Kazakhstan wear teal, not pink.)
