Talk about belated post. On my way to a conference this past March, I stopped over in Chicago to spend some quality time with family and friends. One of my last afternoons in town, I went downtown, ran some errands, and wandered around before heading over to Chase Auditorium Theater for a taping of Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me (now becoming an annual spring break event). 🙂
Pictures of Chicago’s vertical skyline.
I had read in the news that the Chicago River and the Great Lakes were really frozen over. And… they were (some pics of Niagara Falls to come). But here’s the Chicago River starting to thaw… I haven’t seen ice like this in a while. Birds go where no man dares to tread. 🙂
Some Chicago-style sustenance from Glazed and Infused… coffee and a creme brulee donut.
A great day capped off by a “nerdily fun” evening at WWDTM as Carl Kasell kicks off his final few months as scorekeeper with an old friend from college. Wandering around Chicago downtown, eating donuts and coffee, grabbing a Polish-inspired dinner, capped off with NPR-esque fun… no complaints here.
